Organic Barberry, known in Ayurvedic texts as Daruharidra, has the botanical name Berberis aristata. This plant has been used in the Ayurvedic system for a long time. The fruit is edible and a rich source of vitamin C. The root of the herb contains berberine and isoquinoline alkaloids. Both of these compounds have antifungal and antimicrobial properties.
