Rasa-Taste-Tikta (Bitter), Katu (Pungent). Guna (Qualities) - Laghu (Lightness), Teekshna (piercing, strong, penetrative). Vipaka - Katu- Undergoes pungent taste conversion after digestion—Veerya - Ushna - Hot potency—effects on Tridosha - Balances Kapha and Vata dosha.

1/2 teaspoon in food or 1/2 teaspoon can be mixed with one teaspoon of ghee and mixed with warm water to balance the pitta.
