Dosha Compatibility: A Guide to Find Your Perfect Match

Are you ready to take your dating life to the next level? But how to be sure that they are the one for you? We've all heard of dating apps and compatibility tests but have you ever heard of Ayurvedic doshas? How do they play a crucial role in compatibility? Well, dosha compatibility is a traditional way to check couple compatibility based on their doshas.

For those unfamiliar, Ayurveda defines three doshas based on five elements: ether, air, fire, water, and earth. We all are made of these five elements, which means we have these different doshas but in different ratios. This ratio distinguishes us from one another and makes us unique.

Let's dive in to learn more about Ayurvedic doshas and their compatibility.

Ayurvedic Doshas

According to Ayurveda, Pitta, Vata, and Kapha doshas define an individual personality. Any dominant doshas are considered as our Prakriti.

Pitta Dosha: The Passionate

Pitta is a combination of two elements, i.e., fire and water. Pitta dominance people are said to be highly motivated, goal-oriented, competitive, and have a never-give-up attitude. However, their aggressive personality may not be liked by everyone and can even lead to conflict sometimes.

Vata Dosha: The Adventurous

Vata consists of air and ether. Vata people are usually described as highly creative, ambitious, multitasking, humble, and flexible. They don't like so much stability and controlled life.

They keep suppressing their emotions for a long time and explode later at some point, which looks like they are overreacting. However, it is due to suppressed emotion over a long period. Whenever they feel stressed out, meditation assists them in de-stressing.

Kapha Dosha: The Loving

Kapha dosha is made of earth and water. They are empathetic, caring, patient, calm, happy, trusting, wise, and romantic creatures. They don't mind eating the same breakfast daily for the rest of their life. However, an imbalance in doshas can make them couch potatoes, which leads to demotivation and depression.

Now that you have got the idea about doshas' dominant personalities, let's explore dosha compatibility and find out who should date whom.

Dosha Compatibility

Dating a person with the same dosha means you have many similarities that can favor your relationship. However, Ayurveda has some basic principles regarding compatibility, i.e., like attracts like but opposite balances out things.

For instance, a person with similar traits may attract you because you think they understand your feelings. But we require balance in a relationship to make things work out. If your partner is short-tempered, you need to be calm. This is how opposites balance.

If you are in a relationship with the same dosha partner, take care not to agitate either of your personalities. Otherwise, it can create conflict and tension between you.

Two Kaphas

Couples with two Kaphas are likely to be passionate, devoted, and homebodies. To avoid boredom later on, they must encourage one another to try something new every day.

Two Pittas

We all know people with Pitta dosha have aggressive personalities. Couples with Pitta doshas are always ready to fight. They easily switch on their conflict mode.

Two Vatas

When two Vatas are dating, they will be romantic and spontaneous but indecisive simultaneously. They can be reluctant to commit to one another.

Vata + Kapha

Vata people are cheerful, impetuous, and eccentric. They are always eager to explore new things. These qualities complement people with Kapha doshas. Kapha provides stability and comfort to Vata, who usually does hundreds of things simultaneously. The Vata will infuse the relationship with spontaneity because they enjoy change and surprises and can't sit still.

Sometimes, Vata people's excitement and impetuousness can be extreme for those kapha doshas who like things to move at a slow pace.

Vata + Pitta

A Vata and Pitta duo are energetic, creative, fast, and ambitious. Both Vata and Pitta complement each other. Pitta people have a habit of being organized and are perfectionists, which will soothe Vata's dispersed mind..

Besides this, Vata's creativity and humor can fill colors to Pitta's rigidly controlled daily life. However, Pitta's short temper and Vata'a anxiousness can create a stressful situation.

Pitta + Kapha

Pitta people are sharp, witty, and like an adventure. Once they are in love, they won't take a step back in a relationship. They love attention and appreciate beauty. Therefore, pitta's desire for organization and adjustment can be entirely compatible with the steadfastness and stability of Kapha folks.

There is a considerable energy gap between these two doshas which can result in conflict. Pitta says hurtful things and moves on quickly, and Kapha is quite the opposite.

In a nutshell

By looking at the compatibility between two people’s doshas, we can understand how their energies will interact with each other, allowing us to make better decisions about relationships and partnerships.

Although, no doshas combination is perfect. We have to find the difference between our dosha and create a balance to make it forever.

When we are in a relationship, we need to understand that everyone has a different approach to dealing with a situation. It doesn't mean they are not wrong. We should accept that we are all programmed differently, which can help lead to a healthy relationship.

To balance out your dosha, and have a favorable compatibility, Ayurveda offers various supplements and methods to do so. Head on to our shop and see our Vata, Pitta, Kapha Dosha Balancing Products.
